I hated my old host. I’m not mentioning any names, but their customer service was non-existent (you couldn’t even find a phone number on their website), and my sites were always down. Since I am a freelance web designer and run a non-profit, having my websites up is very important. I was completely fed up with my old host, but had no idea where to go.
One day I was ranting to a colleague about said old host. “I keep telling you to go to Host Gator,” he said. I was skeptical, because I couldn’t imagine dealing with yet another faceless company. Still, I could usually trust this guy’s judgment, and I was pretty desperate. I set up my new account and moved everything over, and I have been head over heels ever since.
Any time I have ever had a problem — even when it had to do with some WordPress database problems — the Host Gator support team was there for me. I rarely wait more than a few minutes to talk to a real person on the phone, and they are always very friendly. Most of the time, the crew is always a step ahead of me and fixes things before I can finish explaining to their customer support what is going on.
Aside from excellent customer support and nearly 100% up-time, Host Gator offers some really neat packages. I usually set my clients up with their Hatchling account, which is $5 a month. I myself have a reseller account. With any Host Gator account, you get cPanel, Fantastico, phpMyAdmin, and lots and lots of ready-to-be-installed software and applications (such as WordPress, phpBB, Drupal, shopping carts, mailing lists, and more).
I would not use any other host, and I would not recommend my clients to anyone else. Host Gator rocks!
When you use Host Gator for your Web hosting, you won’t be sorry! I’ve been using them for a while now and I can honestly say that I’ve never had a problem. It would seem like every inexpensive Web host would have problems, but they don’t all. It’s just that people assume that cheap Web hosts aren’t any good because they don’t cost much. Don’t judge off of price, though. Host Gator is popular and reliable, and it gives you a lot for the money!
I know a lot of people who seem to like Host Gator, but I didn’t have a very good experience with them. My site stayed up ok, but they didn’t answer customer service emails very well, and sometimes they seemed confused about who I was and what kind of problem I was having – like they weren’t really paying attention. I’d like to think I matter more than that to a company that I’m giving my money to, so I won’t be using Host Gator again.
Because Host Gator is one of the most popular of the Web hosting companies I thought that I would give them a try. I wish that I wouldn’t have! I’ve never had a worse experience with a Web hosting company and they clearly didn’t care about what I needed and wanted. They didn’t answer emails well, I had trouble with my site, and they didn’t seem interested in doing anything about that. It’s unfortunate, too, since they’re supposed to be a good company, but I wasn’t impressed at all.
I’m so glad I picked Host Gator! There are so many different Web hosting companies to choose from, and it can be very difficult to find the right one. Sometimes you don’t even know which ones are better because there are a lot of mixed reviews. No matter what anyone else says about Host Gator, though, I think they’re great. I’ve had no trouble at all, and I look forward to using them for hosting for a long time.
If I could say one word about Host Gator it would be quality. I think that they give me more for my money than any other company that I’ve had hosting through. They always seem to be interested in whether their customers are getting what they need, and I’ve not had problems with my site going down or not working right. I’ve also not had any customer service problems or delays when I contact them. I can’t think of anything they could do that would make them better than they already are.
